You made it! Here’s our final devotional for this season… until next time!
TODAY’S PSALM: Psalm 150
Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;
where there is hatred, let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
to be understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is in giving that we receive,
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life.
Amen.(attributed to St Francis of Assisi [1181-1226] but most likely of 20th century origin.)
TODAY’S BIBLE PASSAGES:
Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, who also will do it.1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 (NKJV)
Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.Philippians 2:12-13 (NIV)
TODAY’S POINTS FOR PRAYER:
- As you continue on this journey of working out your salvation with God, thank him that he’s working in you to bring you too maturity – he is faithful and will do it!
- Pray for our whole church family – maybe ask God for some specific names or faces too – that we would each be pursuing this journey of sanctification
- Let’s pray for hope, perseverance, peace and joy for ourselves and others along this journey together!
We’d love to see you at Room tonight, our evening of prayer and worship, as we bring our time of fasting to a close together! Room starts at 7.30pm at the Anchor Coffee House!
