We’re convinced that one of our primary calls as believers is to the poor and vulnerable, and we take time every week to meet those on the streets of our city centre with hot drinks, food, clothing and most significantly the love and power of Jesus.
Meeting every Friday evening at the Beacon (45 Bloom St, M1 3LY), we head out in smaller groups to bless and encourage the homeless, destitute and unloved in Manchester.
As we meet those on the streets, conversations often naturally lead to talking about the amazing God we serve and his incredible love. We so often find hearts that are open to hear the good news of Jesus and we regularly see God’s healing power at work as we pray for some of the guys we meet.
Interested in joining us? You’re really welcome! Come along to the Beacon at 7.30pm any Friday night with us. You’ll be in a group led by some of our more experienced team members. If you’re able to bring any of the following, that’s incredible, but more importantly bring yourself and the hope you carry as son or daughter of God!
Street outreach supplies to bring:
- Flask of tea, coffee or hot chocolate (made with plenty of milk and lots of sugar!)
- Sandwiches (individually wrapped, plain fillings like cheese or ham tend to be well-received)
- Chocolate bars
- Soft fruit (eg bananas, clementines)
- Coats, jumpers or other items of clothing in good condition
